Late evening in July

Pépoulie is a typical farmhouse of SW France, built before the French Revolution, and set in a hectare of land, with panoramic views all around. Sensitively restored, with all modern facilities and a heated salt water swimming pool, it is in the part of France known as the French Tuscany because of its gently rolling hills.

Relaxing and beautiful getaway with wonderful hosts.Wonderful property, beautiful gardens, a superb host in the shape of Roger who cooked some fabulous food for us during our stay which we ate outside with our little boy, great location from which to explore the area, fantastic accommodation when travelling with young children, we had everything we needed. A lovely swimming pool which our little boy loved. We were looked after so well from the minute we arrived and we had a holiday we will treasure always.

Pépoulie consists of three self-contained sections: the end part, where I live and the children and grandchildren come to stay ; the middle, which is the gîte; and a workshop/garden equipment storage section nearest the pool.

The gîte sleeps six to eight adults. It has one very large and two smaller bedrooms. There are also two cots, two children's beds, and two highchairs available, plus lots of other children's equipment.

The large openplan living, dining and kitchen area has french doors at front and back, with views of the rolling countryside stretching to the horizon.

The kitchen is fully equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, etc).

There is wireless internet access in the gîte.

The 12 x 5 metre pool is heated by an environment friendly heat pump, with a constant temperature of 25°C.  You can therefore swim comfortably between late March and mid November. It uses environment friendly salt rather than chlorine. It also has views over the rolling countryside.

The village of Puylaurens is about a kilometre away, with bakeries, two supermarkets, two restaurants, and other services like petrol station, chemist, stationer, estate agent, and so on. The weekly market, with stalls selling vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, cheese, bread etc is on Wednesdays.

When you book we will email you further practical information about the gîte, the pool, Puylaurens, and surrounding area in preparation for your stay.

We welcome children, so click to see what we do to make your stay child friendly.
